Its work relates to the competences of the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth (as well as the Deputy Ministry of Culture) and the public law organisations operating under its control. Its legislative work and parliamentary scrutiny pertain to education, public and private universities, public and private schools and educational institutions, special education, the operation of bodies for the recognition of tertiary education titles and the procedure for admission to tertiary education, and in general everything that relates to the operation and improvement of the educational system. The Committee also deals with questions of cultural development, sports and youth.
