Standing Committee on Financial and Budgetary Affairs
This Committee examines bills and issues of financial nature, including the annual state budget, the budget of all public law organizations, bills and regulations submitted by the Ministry of Finance. The Committee exercises parliamentary control on issues of the economy as well as pertaining to the position of Cyprus in the international economy, the terms of employment of civil servants, public law persons, the functioning of commercial banks, the Central Bank of Cyprus and the functioning of the financial system as well. On the basis of a decision of the Committee of Selection, this Committee also examines explanatory memoranda relating to the employment of temporary civil servants.

* For the first 2,5 years of the parliamentary term Mr Alekos Tryfonides of the DEMOCRATIC ALIGNMENT (DEPA) will participate in the committee and for the next 2,5 years he will be replaced by Mr Stavros Papadouris of the Cyprus Greens-Citizens’ Cooperation.
