She assumed duties in the House of Representatives on 20 July 2004 as a Member of DIKO in the Limassol constituency, after the seat had fallen vacant. At the parliamentary elections of 21 May 2006 she was elected Member of the House of Representatives standing as a DIKO candidate in the same constituency.

She is deputy chairwoman of the House Standing Committee on European Affairs and a member of the House Standing Committee on Educational Affairs, of the House Standing Committee on Health Affairs and of the House Standing Committee on Labour and Social Insurance.

She is also a member of the delegation of the House to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe.

She worked as a pharmacist in a private pharmacy (1979-1990) and was a member of the board of ROCEL LTD (1991-2004).

She was a member of the Limassol municipal council (1997-2004), chairwoman of the Labour Affairs Committee of the municipality and a member of the board of the Housing Finance Corporation.

She was assistant general secretary of DIKO.

She was Cyprus and Greece champion and a member of the Cyprus and Greece respective national teams in track and field sports.

She is chairwoman of the “Women & Sports” Cyprus Committee and of the “Women & Sports” European Committee for the years 2006-2009.

She is also a member of the Executive Bureau and of the Central Committee

of DIKO.

The Cyprus Sports Writers Association has proclaimed her “Athlete of the year” (1968, 1969) and the Athens municipal council has honoured her for her contribution to track and field sports.
