The Committee’s field covers the protection of the natural and built environment. In particular, its legislative work relates to the protection of the atmosphere, waters and land from all pollution sources. In the framework of its parliamentary scrutiny the Committee examines matters pertaining to the natural environment, pollution and in particularly industrial pollution, sound pollution, biological and chemical waste, the protection of the natural and built environment from interventions and other activities that alter its features. It furthermore examines issues that relate to the marine environment, wildlife and flora, as well as the protection of spaces of a significant environmental value.
