Representative of Nicosia constituency under the banner of AKEL-Left-New Forces 2003-2004 and of Limassol constituency since May 2011.

  Chairman of the House Standing Committee on the Environment.
  Member of the House Standing Committee on Foreign and European Affairs and of the House Standing Committee on Health Affairs.
  Member of the delegation of the House to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).

 Member of the European Parliament (Confederal Group of the European United Left - Nordic Green Left) (2004-2009).
 Head of the delegation for relations with the Palestinian Legislative Council (2004-2006).
 Member of the board of the Nursing School of the Ministry of Health

 Member of the board of the Drug Council of the Ministry of Health (1999-2002).
