Functions:
(Rule 9 of the Rules of Procedure of the House of Representatives)

The Clerks shall assist the President in conducting the proceedings of the House, shall read before the House any documents deemed by the President that should be read, shall register in order of request the names of the Representatives asking for the right to speak, shall assist the President during voting and shall write down the decisions taken.

1. Following Article 72.4 of the Constitution «In addition to the President and the Vice-President of the House there shall be appointed from amongst the Representatives and by the President and the Vice-President of the House, respectively, two Greek and one Turkish Clerks of the House and two Greek and one Turkish Administrative Clerks of the House who shall be attached respectively to the office of the President and the Vice-President of the House». Since December 1963, the seat of the Turkish Cypriot Clerk remains vacant.
