Representative of Nicosia constituency under the banner of DISY since 2001.

Has previously served:
- Member of the Committee of Selection.
- Chairperson of the House Standing Committee on Educational Affairs and of the Ad Hoc House Committee on the Issue of Cyprus Airways. 
- Deputy Chairperson of the House Standing Committee on Foreign and European Affairs.
- Vice President of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) (October 2017-December 2018).
- Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Economic and Sustainable Development of the APA (October 2017-December 2018). 
- Head of delegation of the House to the APA. 
- Chairperson of the delegation of the House to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).

Currently serves as:
- Parliamentary Spokesperson of DISY since 2013.
- Member of the Committee of Selection.
- Member of the Special Committee on Ethics for the Members of the House of Representatives. 
- Chairperson of the House Standing Committee on Legal Affairs, Justice and Public Order.
- Full member of the Special House Committee on Declaration and Examination of Financial Interests and member of the House Standing Committee on the Observance of the Rules of Procedure of the House of Representatives.  
- Chairperson of the delegation of the House to the PACE and Head of the delegation of the House to the APA.  

Political career:

- Member of the DISY Youth Organisation (NEDISY) (1978-1988).
- Member of the board of the Cyprus State Fairs Authority (1994-2000).
- President of the Nicosia District Financial Management Committee of DISY (1995-1999).
- DISY Commissioner for the Environment and Sustainable Development (2001-2005).
- Honorary Consul of Kenya in Cyprus since 1998.
- DISY Commissioner for Educational Affairs and Co-ordinator of the Culture and Athletics Sector (2004-2013).
- Member of the Executive Bureau, of the Political Bureau and of the Supreme Council of DISY since 2004.
- Vice President of DISY (2007-2012) with special responsibility for the party’s communication planning.
