Professional executive of the Central Committee of the Progressive Party of the Working People (AKEL).

English, Italian.

Representative of Nicosia constituency under the banner of AKEL-Left-New Forces since 2001.

Has previously served as:
- Leader of the AKEL-Left-New Forces parliamentary group (2009-2021).
- Member of the Committee of Selection.
- Chairperson of the House Standing Committee on Labour and Social Insurance and of the House Standing Committee on Internal Affairs. 
- Chairperson of the delegation of the House to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).
- One of the Vice Presidents of the PACE in 2008.

Currently serves as:
Member of the delegation of the House to the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).

- Member of the National Council, the supreme advisory body to the President of the Republic on the Cyprus problem (2008-2021).
